This charming 1927 Four Square started life as a boarding house in West Asheville, overlooking the French Broad River and the Warehouse District (now the River Arts District!). Many railroad workers lived here in the early days, living beside a growing family.

It was divided into two living units at some point in its history, with a separate entrance for each, kitchen, laundry, and electric meter. The main floor retained many original details, including hardwood floors, built-in cabinetry, divided light doors with the original hardware, the original sink in the half bath, and much of the original trim. The upstairs apartment is light and breezy, with views of the city and the mountains. The basement is dry and has additional space for crafts and hobbies.

If single-family living is what you are looking for, you could easily remove one wall section at the staircase to the second floor. As a bonus, this would give you the required “inside access” for possible Air BnB approval.

Some meaningful updates were done. The plumbing and electricity have both been updated, and additional insulation was blown into the walls. Fiber Optic Cable ensures you can work from home.

247 Riverview is ideally located in West Asheville in a walkable neighborhood, close to restaurants, breweries, and all the fun! This is an opportunity that you don’t want to miss!

About Susan

My husband and I have made our home in the peaceful mountains of Western North Carolina since 1992 where we worked together in the running of our home remodeling business. Together we have built 4 homes and renovated another as well as renovated countless homes for clients. I have always taken an active part in the design and building of these homes. From hanging ridge rafters to laying hardwood floors, I have gained a great deal of respect and understanding of what goes into a well-built home. This love of homes and home construction is what led me to become a Real Estate Broker in 2003 and later a General Contractor. I am also active in canine sports, competing with my golden retrievers and organizing obedience trials as well as serving time on the board (past treasurer) of the Sandlapper Golden Retriever Club.  In addition, I am a stained glass artist and I take much pride and satisfaction in designing and creating glass art that I often donated to benefit rescues and canine health research.

Since starting my Real Estate Career long ago, I have won many sales awards and more importantly to me, several Quality Service Awards. For several years I was Broker in Charge of a small office, managing 9 other agents. Feeling the need to get back to what I love about real estate, I stepped down as the managing broker in 2017 so I could concentrate on
my clients and their needs as a Broker Associate. I am now working with Sterling Real Estate Partners because of their creativity, marketing technology, customer service and their stellar reputation in the Asheville and surrounding markets.

I specialize in Residential Homes, Small Farms and Land Tracks with a special passion for Vintage Homes. When marketing a Vintage home, or helping a buyer with a purchase of one, you can expect a full essay on the "genealogy" of your home. One of my many obsessions is tracking the history of Asheville's older homes. My years working as a carpenters assistant as well as my beginnings in the marketing field will be used to your benefit when you are selling or buying a home. Of course for dog owners, my 20+ years of training and competing with my own dogs has given me an understanding that often a fenced yard for Puppy is not enough. Sometimes we need a bit more. For both sellers and buyers I recognize the unique needs that many of us
have for ourselves and with our homes.
